192 faculty honored

A total of 192 faculty members were praised for the "the impact you have made in your areas of study and in the service you have given to your colleges, schools and departments," by President Francis L. Lawrence at the fifth annual faculty recognition luncheon Dec. 14 in Neilson Dining Hall.
Noting that there were 74 who taught for a decade, 11 for 40 years, 68 for 30 years and 39 for 20 years, Lawrence said the honored faculty represented "40 centuries of exceptional service to higher education."
Another speaker, College of Pharmacy sophomore Addie S. Wright, thanked the faculty for making her classes "enjoyable, fascinating and fun."
Forty-year teacher Carol H. Smith, professor of English in New Brunswick, outlined Rutgers' growth, particularly in the area of women's studies, and asserted, "I'm happy to have been part of this history and to have shared it with people in this room."
