A year-round SummerFest

"Mason Gross Presents," a new performing arts series marking the transition of SummerFest into a year-round series of theater, music, dance and visual arts events, offers its debut performance at 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, in the Nicholas Music Center.
The program will feature the Rutgers University Orchestra conducted by Andrea Quinn, musical director of the New York City Ballet, in a performance of Tower's "Concerto for Orchestra," Rachmaninoff's "Piano Concerto No. 1 Op. 1" and Stravinsky's "Firebird Ballet Suite for Orchestra 1945."
