At the libraries
Documenting World War II

Archived article from Oct 27, 2000

Three donations of World War II materials have been given to Special Collections and University Archives. The donations include the almost daily correspondence between Robert Spitzer and his wife, Freda, while Spitzer served in the 9th Armored Division, the first to cross the Rhine River in March 1945; the letters and news-paper clippings of Cecelia Lediger and Eva Sacks, both of whom served as U.S. Army combat nurses; and letters, papers and photographs documenting the war service of Arthur Adler, who served in the U.S. Navy. For more information on the World War II material in the libraries, call Ron Becker at ext. 2-7006 or contact him by e-mail at rbecker@rci.rutgers.edu.
