Visitors to the Newark campus can now go to one central location to get infor-mation about buildings, phone numbers, services, special events and other pertinent information.
A Campus Information and Conference Services office, operating out of two information booths in the Paul Robeson Campus Center, has been created to assist visitors. The new office also will assume responsibility for the central telephone information number, (973) 353-1766.
The centers are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The Campus Information and Conference Services office was modeled after the one on the New Brunswick campus, but tailored for the specific needs of the Newark campus. The center employs about 30 specially trained students to staff the booths and answer phone questions, according to the director, Dianne Hill. Christina Baez supervises the center; Connie Bissett serves as administrative assistant.
The center's goal is a simple one, Hill noted: "to provide each person with accessible, accurate information and referrals and to do it in a friendly manner, utilizing the many talented, wonderful students on our campus."
