Homebuyers' Program extended
Archived article from Oct 6, 2000
The New Jersey College and University Homebuyers' Program has been extended beyond the original cutoff date of June 30, 2000, and will continue for the foreseeable future.
According to the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, approximately $2 million is still available to qualified individuals. Full-time Rutgers employees can receive $10,000 in down-payment assistance toward the purchase of a home or, for those who already own homes, up to $5,000 in matching funds to make exterior home improvements. Homebuyers must purchase in targeted urban areas near the campus where they work, and current homeowners seeking matching funds must reside in the designated areas.
For more information, call your campus coordinator: in Camden, Mark Rozewski at ext. 6174; in Newark, Gene Vincenti at ext. 5441; and in New Brunswick, Debra Norman at ext. 2-8404.
