Homecoming 2002

Archived article from Sep 2, 2002

Culminating in a gridiron dual between the Scarlet Knights and the Black Knights, Rutgers' annual homecoming festival will feature a weekend of exciting and entertaining activities Sept. 13–15. "Uknighted on the Banks" is this year's theme as thousands of graduates, faculty, staff and current students celebrate the state university.

The highlight of the weekend takes place Saturday, Sept. 14, as the Scarlet Knights take on the Army Black Knights in a football match beneath the lights of Rutgers Stadium.

Kick off is at 7 p.m. Prior to the game, everyone is invited to gather at Festival Fields directly across from Rutgers Stadium for food, music, games and socializing beginning at 4 p.m. The Rutgers Glee Club, Queen's Chorale and Alumni Band will provide entertainment, along with jugglers, clowns and magicians. The popular Rutgers Kids Zone, featuring King Arthur's castle adventure, will again be part of festival activities. There is no admission charge to Festival Fields.

To order tickets for the game, call ext. 5-2766 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. A complete schedule of homecoming activities is available at the event's Web site. Go to www.alumni.rutgers.edu and click on "alumni events."

Information is also available by calling the Rutgers Alumni Relations office at ext. 2-6874.
