New Jersey Book Arts Symposium Nov. 3

Archived article from Oct 27, 2000

The sixth annual New Jersey Book Arts Symposium, titled "Original Copies: The Book Arts and Reproduction," will be held Friday, Nov. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the John Cotton Dana Library in Newark. The morning will feature four New Jersey book artists who express a contemporary sensibility using a variety of traditional artistic techniques, including calligraphy, cut paper and gold leaf. Afternoon discussions, moderated by Mason Gross School of the Arts Professor Judith K. Brodsky, will focus on ideas and assumptions about originality and reproduction in the book arts. For more information, call ext. 5222.
