Rutgers inaugural technology transfer forum

Archived article from May 10, 2004

Michael Breton, associate vice president for research and sponsored programs, welcomes Sherrie Preische, the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology’s new executive director, to Rutgers’ first Technology Transfer Forum April 21. Revolutionary batteries for hybrid vehicles, a wireless system for locating lost children and plant-based pharmaceuticals were among the innovations showcased. Breton and his staff organized the forum to illustrate Rutgers technologies and demonstrate their potential for commercialization. An audience of prospective investors and members of the business community heard from Rutgers researchers about licensing opportunities in areas as diverse as biotechnology, chemistry, computer and electrical engineering, pharmacy and physics.
