University Senate elects officers

Martha Cotter, a professor of chemistry in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences(FAS)- New Brunswick, has been elected chair of the University Senate for the academic year. She replaces Paul Panayotatos, a professor of electrical and computer engineering in the School of Engineering, whose term expired.
Samuel Rabinowitz, associate professor at the School of Business-Camden, was elected to a fourth term as vice chair.
Faculty members elected to the executive committee were: Joseph Barone, professor of pharmacy, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy; Joseph Blasi, professor of human resource management, School of Management and Labor Relations; Natalie Borisovets, a librarian in the Dana Library at Rutgers-Newark; and Haym Hirsh, professor of computer science, FAS-New Brunswick.
Andrew Bucko, a computer science and economics major at Rutgers College, and Donald Curry, a political science major at University College, were elected student members of the executive committee. Susan Darien will represent the alumni federation on the executive committee. Shashi Dholandas, a sophomore at Livingston College, was elected student representative to the board of governors, and Paul Leath, chair of the department of physics and astronomy, FAS-New Brunswick, was elected faculty representative to the board.
Cait Innerfield, a biological sciences and economics major at Rutgers College, was elected undergraduate student representative to the board of trustees. Franklin Turner, graduate school of education-New Brunswick, was elected graduate student representative to the board of trustees. Kathleen Scott, professor of cell biology and neuroscience, FAS-New Brunswick, and Mark Vodak, associate extension specialist, Cook College, were elected faculty representatives to the board of trustees.
