Career Exploration

Your Future Career

A Rutgers education can prepare students for many different careers, but the university also helps them tackle career hunting through the Career Services office. There, students get support in preparing résumés, practicing for interviews, and finding job opportunities. Suggested Activity:

Look through the majors and careers listed on this webpage: http://careerservices.rutgers.edu/CareerHandouts.shtml
  • Select a career that you’re interested in, then search for it in newspapers or job search websites. See how many job openings you can find in your field of interest.
  • Practice writing a one-page letter to an employer explaining the reasons you are interested in a job opening at that company.
  • Practice interview skills by role-playing in a mock job interview.
  • Create or update your own résumé.
