Adolfo Snaidas, Active Faculty, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on September 18, 2007. Professor Snaidas was a member of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, October 18, at 2 p.m. in Voorhees Chapel on Douglass Campus.
Born in Uruguay 72 years ago, Professor Snaidas came to the United States in 1949. He completed his doctoral degree at Rutgers and has taught here ever since, including serving for a time as undergraduate director of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. He is remembered for his political activism and the efforts he made to create equal opportunities for all Rutgers students and for his sense of humor, kindness and work ethic. He is survived by his wife Jane and daughters Maggie and Nell.
