Meghan P. Mc Grady, Alumna of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on October 22, 2007.
Meghan Patricia Mc Grady, died Monday, October 22, 2007 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, NYC, after a battle with cancer. Born
in 1985 in Teaneck, she was a lifelong resident of Dumont. Miss
Mc Grady is a 2003 graduate of Dumont High School and a 2007 graduate of
Rutgers, who planned to further her studies at Rutgers Graduate School of Education prior to her passing. She was a member of the Resident
Housing Association's executive board for 3 years and a member and vice
president of Risk Management of Alpha Chi Sorority at Rutgers. Meghan was
also a part time substitute teacher for the Cresskill Board of Education.
She was a member of Peace Chapter # 98 Order of Eastern Star in Clifton and
a former member of Tilden Assembly # 21 Order of Rainbow for Girls. Meghan
was very active in the Youth Theater while in high school. She was a
former Girl Scout and played rec. basketball. Meghan was a parishioner of St. Mary R.C. Church in Dumont. She was a fund raiser and volunteer aide for Children with Cancer and Blood Disorders. Meghan is survived by her mother, Cheryl A. Mc Grady; her fiance, Lee A. Beattys of Clifton; a brother, Daniel R. Mc Grady Jr., a sophomore of Rutgers College; her maternal grandparents, Eddy
and Betty Pfeifer of Dumont; her aunt and uncle, Toni and Bill Ross of
Jackson; and her cousin, Sidney Ross.
