Dr. Paul Griminger, Retired Faculty, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on March 01, 2009. Dr. Griminger was a Professor of Nutrition.
A memorial service was held at Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, NJ, on Wed., Mar. 4, at 2pm.
Dr. Paul Griminger, 88, of Highland Park, NJ, passed away in peace Sunday morning, Mar. 1. Dr. Griminger was a native of Vienna, Austria. Dr. Griminger was a soldier, scholar, mentor, confidante, quoter of Goethe and global citizen, but most of all a dedicated husband and father. He outwitted the Nazi Anschluss in Austria, fought in Palestine as a British soldier, and finally settled as a professor of Nutrition at Rutgers University. His 34 year career included scientific accomplishments and positions of trust and authority within the university, but his main legacy remains his inspiration of the many students whose lives he touched. He lived a full and interesting life.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Olga; and his 4 children, Jane, Elaine, Karen, and Andrew; and 9 grandchildren.
