Karen M. Murdoch, Alumna of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on October 29, 2009. Karen was a member of the Rutgers University Class of 1996.
Cremation was private, therefore, there are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be offered on Monday at 11:00 AM From St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Spotswood. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood.
Karen Marie Murdoch, 40, of Monroe Twp., died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Karen had a passion for music and graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and English in May of 1996 and from Drexel University with a Master of Science in Arts Administration in December of 2000. Karen was a professional flute instructor and Arts Administrator at Rutgers University for over 11 years. In 2003 Karen and her partner opened the New Jersey Academy of the Arts in Englishtown, New Jersey in order to share her love of the arts with the community through instruction, concerts and workshops. Karen was also an avid photographer, family historian and Disney enthusiast. She had a passion for life and a kind word for everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Karen is survived by her partner Wendy Keppe, her parents Robert and Madelaine Murdoch and her sisters Kathy Stark and Kristin Murdoch. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who love her.
