Loretta A. Lord, Retired Staff, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on January 21, 2010. Mrs. Lord was a member of the Library.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 27), Metuchen, (costellorunyon .com), from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m., with a service taking place at 8:30 p.m.
Loretta Ann Lord (nee Romeo), 71, of Edison passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at home, surrounded by her family. Born in Newark, N.J., Mrs. Lord lived in Irvington before moving to Edison 38 years ago. She was employed by Rutgers University, where she was the senior administrative assistant in the library for 12 years before retiring in 1999. Mrs. Lord was a member of the Reformed Church of Highland Park, where she was in the choir and Bible study group and worked at the thrift shop. She received the Silver Pen Award from The Star-Ledger. Mrs. Lord was predeceased by her father, Frank Romeo, and two children, George Joseph and Mary Jane. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Richard Lord: her mother, Loretta A. Romeo of Toms River; six children, Cheryl Robinson and her husband, Robert, of Piscataway, Kelly Kane and her husband, Thomas, of Piscataway, Loretta Frayman and her husband, Mike, of Toms River, Ann Marie Lord and her husband, Joseph Egnatzky, of Edison, Richard Joseph Lord and his wife, Jennifer, of Edison, and Colleen Lord and her husband, Anthony Rodriguez, of Piscataway; two brothers, Frank and Joseph Romeo; two sisters, Marie Vespaisano and Ann Lord; 17 grandchildren, Lisa, Robbie, Kacey, Kieran, Greg, Jaimie, Nicole, Gina, Joseph, Eric, Amanda, Dustin, Richard, Jillian, Michael, Aidan and Norah, and two great-grandchildren, Daygen and Dominic.
