Norma E. Wanson, Retired Staff, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on March 22, 2010. Mrs. Wanson was an Accountant for Cook College.
The visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday followed by a short memorial at 7 p.m. at the Floyd Memorial Chapel, Lumberton, the Rev. Mac Ledgerton officiating. Another visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Jeff Wanson in Lumberton.
Norma Evelyn Wanson, 82, of Lumberton, died March 22, 2010, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.
She was born in South Amboy, N.J., on Nov. 12, 1927, and was a former resident of South River and Sayreville, N.J., for close to 80 years. She retired in 1990 as an accountant for Rutgers University and the former Cook College, New Brunswick, N.J. As a child in 1937, she was an eyewitness to the Hindenburg airship disaster in Lakehurst, N.J.
Wanson was the wife of the late Paul R. Wanson Sr. and the daughter of the late William and Emily Galley and sister of the late William D. Galley.
She is survived by sons, Paul R. Wanson Jr. and his wife Lettitia, both of East Brunswick, N.J., and Jeff Wanson and wife Lynn, both of Lumberton; grandchildren, Dawn Agugliaro of West Windsor, N.J., Derek Wanson of Elizabethtown, and Paul Wanson III of East Brunswick; great-grandchildren, Jolena D'Amore and baby Agugliaro, both of New Jersey and Alyssa and Connor Chavis-Wanson, both of Elizabethtown.
