In Memoriam

Brian Cudjoe, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on 02/16/2011. He was a member of the School of Law-Newark, Law Library.

A memorial service was held Feb. 25 at New Hope Baptist Church in East Orange, N.J., where he was a member.

Brian Cudjoe died Feb. 16, 2011. A resident of Alexandria Township, N.J., he was 58.

Brian, who came to Rutgers in 1992, is survived by his wife, Mary, and children Malcolm and Jileya Cudjoe, Natalie, Nigel, Nicola, Maleka Cudjoe, Natasha Cudjoe-Francis, Nicole Golding, and Kerwyn Lee. He was stepfather of LaMar Williams and Curtis Rodriguez, and brother of Henry Scipio, Androl Cudjoe, Marinus Cudjoe-Ottley, Dennis Cudjoe, Tytue Cheryl Deane, and Glen and Meleke Cudjoe. He also is survived by 11 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Essie Johnson; six brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brian was recognized for his social justice work with his wife, Mary Cudjoe. In 2006, they founded the Hopewell Medical Adult Day Care Center.
