David C. Langreth, died on 5/27/11
Funeral Services were held Friday, June 3.
His work on how electrons interact inside solids helped lead to the development of computational methods for predicting the properties of important materials. Among many honors, he was elected a fellow of the American Physical Society in 1981, and won the Rutgers Board of Trustees Prize for Excellence in Research in 1999. He remained active in physics research until the last few weeks of his life.
