Richard L. Washer, died on 12/10/2011.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at the Masonic Home Chapel, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington, NJ 08016. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the chapel. Interment will be held privately.
Richard L. Washer, formerly of Southampton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at the Masonic Home of N.J. in Burlington. He was 83.
Mr. Washer retired as a Senior Agriculture Agent for Burlington County after 29 years of dedicated service. He received his bachelor's and master's degree from Rutgers University in Dairy Husbandry and Dairy Genetics.
A very active community member, Richard was a member of the N.J. Farm Bureau, the National Assoc. of County Agricultural Agents, an award winning decoy carver with the Rancocas Valley Woodcarvers, Past President of the N.J. Agricultural Agents Assoc., Past Secretary for Burlington County Shade Tree Commission, Past and Honorary Director of the Burlington County Farm Fair Assoc., and a member of the Mount Holly Lodge #14 of F&AM for over 57 years.
Richard was also an avid fisherman who loved to dance and cherished the time spent with his family and his beloved grandchildren.
Husband of the late Joan (Longcore), he is survived by his daughter, Lynne Oppenheimer (David) of Langhorne, and three grandchildren, Carrie, Julia and her husband, Rylan, and Richard.
