W. Davis "Jerry" Jerome, died on 01/07/2012.

Beloved Fine Arts Music Professor Emeritus W. Davis “Jerry” Jerome, who taught generations of Rutgers-Camden students for many years, passed away on Jan. 7 at his home in Newtown, Pa., from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

Jerry was hired in 1976 as an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Music Department and retired in 2008 as Professor of Music. He was responsible for creating the Mozart Society Orchestra, the Honors Program (now the Honors College), and the Mallery Concert Series. His enthusiasm and energy inspired thousands of students.

The Rutgers-Camden community extends its deepest sympathies to Jerry's family.

Beloved husband of Frances Slone Jerome and beloved father of 2 daughters, Ann Elizabeth Jerome and Margaret Frances Jerome Stuart; grandfather of Peter and Elizabeth Croce and Sam and Vicki Stuart. Private Services and Burial in Newtown Cemetery were held under the direction of SWARTZ/GIVNISH FUNERAL HOME, Newtown. A Memorial Service may be held at a later date at Pennswood Village in Newtown.
