Jeffrey Berrest, died on 08/28/2012.
Jeffrey Berrest 1951 - 2012
Jeff was born on November 3, 1951 in New York, the eldest son of William and Esther Berrest.
Jeff worked for Rutgers University for over 25 years. He loved his job in Campus Mail Services because he got to deliver the mail all over the campus. Jeff knew everyone and always had a kind word and genuinely cared when he asked someone how they were doing. Jeff loved Rutgers athletics, and was known as the Superfan. He would often be found at football, basketball, softball and field hockey games, cheering for his beloved Scarlet Knights. Jeff presented awards at various sports banquets and was once an honorary coach at the Red White football game.
For many years, Jeff was the President of the Resources Social Group at the New Jersey Institute for Disabilities. He was a leader in helping raise funds for the various programs at the institute and championed activities for the other members. Jeff loved to sing and was one of the stars in the Edison Arts Society, Resources Theatre Group's production of All Kinds of People in July 2009. See http://www.edisonarts.org/blog/?p=639
Jeff passed away on August 28, 2012 at the age of 60 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Jeff is survived by his brother Bruce, nieces, cousins and his many friends.
