John A. Meade
John Arthur Meade, 84, died on April 17, 2013.
Born in Coldwater, Michigan, he resided in Kentland, Maryland, before moving to East Brunswick, New Jersey, in 1966. Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was a professor of agronomy at Rutgers University on the Cook College Campus for 25 years, and was also a part of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Prior to that, he did research at the University of Maryland.
He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Maryland and his doctorate from the University of Iowa in 1958. He was a member of the New Jersey Christmas Tree Growers Association and the Northeastern Weed Control Conference. He was a peacetime veteran of the US Navy, having served in the Office of Naval Intelligence.
Funeral services were held on April 22 at 9 a.m. at the Rezem Funeral Home in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He was interred at the NJ Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown.
