Bunyad Haider, 78, died on August 17, 2014. He was the former interim chair of the Department of Medicine, former director of cardiology, and recently named professor emeritus of medicine at New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).
He was a dedicated member of the NJMS community, helping to establish NJMS as a premier medical school and the cardiology program as one of the top training programs in the country. He educated countless students, residents, and fellows, and mentored generations of faculty.
Marc Klapholz, chair of medicine, described him as someone who “was a great friend who helped so many and who always generously provided guidance and support in our personal and professional lives. He will be dearly missed and the loss of his wisdom and grace will be deeply felt.”
Funeral services took place on August 19 at the Barrett Funeral Home in Tenafly, New Jersey.
