Russell J. Kormann
Russell J. Kormann passed away on November 24, 2014. He was a clinical associate professor and project director of Project: Natural Setting Therapeutic Management, Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, Center for Applied Psychology.
Professor Kormann served as a behavioral consultant to many school districts and residential programs throughout New Jersey. He achieved fellow status with the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Professor Kormann published many articles on community and academic support for individuals with severe behaviors, as well as on staff and parent burnout. He was active in the professional community through his membership and presentations at many professional associations, and dedicated his career to serving persons with disabilities.
Professor Kormann was a long-time and highly valued member of the Mainstreaming Medical Care Advisory Board of The Arc of New Jersey and a dynamic and popular speaker at their conferences. Donations in his memory can be sent to The Arc of New Jersey (www.arcnj.org with the notation: "In memory of Dr. Russ Kormann") where contributions will be designated for scholarships to the annual conference and other meaningful ways that will serve as a tribute to Professor Kormann's stellar legacy.
Services were held at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, Cedar Grove, NJ. Arrangements were by Evergreen Funeral Home, Jersey City.
