Robert M. Hamer
Robert M. Hamer, former professor of psychiatry, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), passed away at his Chapel Hill, North Carolina, home on December 28, 2015, it was recently learned. He was 65.
A memorial service is planned for later this spring.
He was professor of psychiatry at RWJMS until February 28, 2001. Most recently, he was a research professor of biostaistics at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health and professor of psychiatry at that university's School of Medicine.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; his children, Kenneth Delhagen, Circe (Jeffrey) Beadle, and Lisa Vaile; his mother, Eleanor Hamer; two sisters, Sharon Hamer Curran and Diane Hamer; and four granddaughters.
