Thomas Weber, Active Faculty, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on September 10, 2006. Associate Professor Weber was a member of the History Department.
Prof. Weber was born in Phliadelphia, PA, April 26, 1910. He was educated at Princeton and Columbia Universities. For his doctorate, he wrote 'The Northern Railroads in the Civil War." He was very active in the First Presbyterian Church in Metuchen for 55 years and wrote two books on the church, "The Heritage of the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen, New Jersey" and the "One Church, Many Congregations." He was active in politics in Metuchen and served as Mayor in 1966-67. He was also active with Delaware Raritan Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels, and the local AAUP Chapter. He is survived by son Thomas and his wife Mary Ann of Sayreville NJ; daughter Dr. Marilyn Weber of Lake Como, NJ; grandson Michael Weber of Sayreville, NJ; his brother Robert Weber and his wife Marie of Fanwood, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
