John W. Etheridge, Retired Staff, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, died on January 29, 2007. Mr. Etheridge was Director of University Budget Management.
John W. Etheridge of Columbia, S.C., passed away Monday, Jan. 29. He was 72.
He was born in Rahway and raised in Carteret. He graduated from Rider University with a bachelor of science in business education in 1956 and received a master of science in education from Montclair University in 1959.
Mr. Etheridge was an active member of the Gideons International. He was also a member, deacon, treasurer and Sunday School teacher at Parkway Baptist Church, Columbia, S.C. He was treasurer of the Rutgers Federal Credit Union for more than 15 years, treasurer of Child Evangelism Fellowship area chapter in Middlesex County and a tax aide for the AARP in South River.
Mr. Etheridge was predeceased by his brother, Walter Harold Etheridge, who was killed in World War II in 1945. Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Jean Etheridge; three daughters, Jill Letts and her husband, Ron, of Columbia, S.C., June Mason and her husband, Jeffrey, of Cranford, N.J., and Jennifer Utz and her husband, Troy, of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; a son, Glenn Etheridge and his wife, Andrea, of Canton, Ga.; a sister, Joyce Jones and her husband, Tom, of Clark, N.J., and three grandchildren, Ronnie Letts, Ryan Mason and Evan Mason.
